Hi Everyone,

We've had some good weather in May thus far (I'll ignore the bad weather).  Hopefully the rain is out of the way and we will have some more nice sunny days. Of course, the Antelope Valley will heat up by the end of June, so now is a great time to enjoy being outside.

News From the Clubhouse

Happy belated Mothers Day to all those who are mothers and a special one to those who took time out of their busy weekend to come out and play at Rancho. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Here it is May and finally we are getting some beautiful weather, warm and on some days no wind. With the weather changing it is advisable to make tee times on the weekends especially Sunday. We don't like to turn anyone away or keep them waiting, but sometimes it can be 30 to 40 minutes without a tee time.

A little golf trivia in Japan: It is bad luck to use a golf ball with the number 4 on it. It is a Japanese taboo.

We have plenty of room for any one wishing to hold a tournament for as few as 12 to 48. and even more if some players don't want to walk the course. A Birthday party or a bachelor party make for a great outing. We have had quite a few bachelor outings on the very day they are getting married, it seems to calm the nerves and they can concentrate on something else for a few hours.

Well we have been quiet on the golf course no emu's or other strange creatures coming to visit but we do have brand new baby ducks they stay pretty close to their moms and close to the lakes. It is a great time to take pictures of someone playing on the course everything is so green, a perfect background shot. I love listening to golfers brag In golf when someone said "I'm One under" do they mean (the) One under a tree, One under rock, or under a bush ?

We are starting to talk about having our annual Glowball tournament. So far we haven't set a date, but when we do come up with the information, it will be posted and in our newsletter. If anyone has any interesting ideas on putting on a tournament of any kind please stop in and talk to the starters, as we always like new ideas.

A big Thank You to Rick and Pedro for working so hard outside on the greens, fairways, rough, driving range - really the whole course! It definitely show., The course looks and plays great.

A little bit of golf news. Did you know? Electric golf carts were first introduced into the golf world in the late 50's now more then 90 percent of all golfers in the United States ride.

Take care all and stop in and let us know what you think of our monthly News letter while on your wait to play golf
