With all the warm rain we've been having, the course is looking very green. I'm not a big fan of wet weather, but it's good for the course.
Also, we're now into a period of changing weather, with cooler (sometimes cold) mornings, and nice afternoons.
And of course, the holidays will be here before you know it. Weather permitting, the four-day Thanksgiving weekend is a great time to get out and play golf. While the significant other (better half?) is out shopping, or watching football games, you could be enjoying the sunshine and mild temperatures.
News From the Clubhouse
Hi Everyone,
Here it is October already and everyone is talking about what our winter is going to be like. This is fall weather, nice and cool. I know I'm enjoying the days and nights and not looking forward to the cold and rainy weather. Halloween is right around the corner along with Daylight Savings so come out and golf before the days are real short and it gets colder.
As most of you who have been here recently have noticed, the course is getting a cleaning overhaul. Reeds in the creeks are being cut down and pulled out. Now you can see Number 3 green from the tee box. It is no longer a blind shot (that should improve your handicap).
We have purchased brand new range balls - yellow Nike balls. Along with the purchase we have raised the price of range baskets our monthly range card. Our prices are still very reasonable and no higher then most other courses in the Valley. This is something that we thought very long and hard about. We know the economy is affecting everyone and have tried to keep the range prices the same for the last 7 years. We hope you continue to keep hitting balls. Remember: Practice makes perfect!
We have quite a few people registering on our web site www.ranchosierragolf.com and printing out a coupon for a free round of golf on their birthday. It can be used up to 7 days before or 7 days after your birthday, so don't forget to use it. Tell your friend to sign up and take advantage of the free golf and other promotions happening at the course.
Want to have a tournament for Thanksgiving or Christmas? It's easy to do. You can schedule a tournament for charity or just for fun. If you're interested in finding out more information, let the starters know and we will help you with setting one up. It could be a simple as a family get together for golf or a full blown tournament with sponsors, prizes, etc. This is also a great way to take advantage of our group discounts.
Starting in Nov we will be having our Food Drive and Toys for Tots. Bring in a new unwrapped $10.00 toy and receive $10.00 off your round of golf, for every 2 cans of food you donate we will take a $ off a bucket of range balls. Let's all get in the holiday spirit and help those who aren't as fortunate as others.
If there is an item you would like us to carry, please inform one of the starters and we will try to purchase it for the pro shop.
Starting the first of November, the new Twilight hours and Super Twilight hours will be 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
For those of you who belong to the SCGA have you noticed that nothing goes down slower then a golf handicap. "Golf is a game in which you yell fore, shoot six, and write down five." Hope to see all of you on the course playing a game you think you've conquered, then the game conquers you. That is what keeps us coming back for more.
Don't forget to stop and enjoy the day.

GOLFER OF THE MONTH!
You still have two months to qualify for the Golfer of the Year tournament. Give your dollar to the starter during a mens club event and complete your GOM card., If you have the low net score in your flight for that month, you qualify for the Golfer of the Year tournament in January. And don’t be afraid to turn in ANY score regardless of whether you think it’s good enough or not. One member ( who shall remain nameless ) qualified with a net 70 because no one else turned in a GOM card for that flight that month.
If you have any questions, you can email us at RSMensgolf@aol.com. We’d love to hear from you.
