Hope you've been enjoying your summer at Rancho Sierra. The course looks fantastic and the wildlife is in abundance. Keep your eyes open - snake sightings are common this time of year. Please let us know if you see any so we can keep other golfers informed.
You may have noticed that the reeds are growing fast. Rick and Pedro are working on managing them now - next we'll be painting the clubhouse.
Speaking of the clubhouse, we are currently stocking new shirts, hats, golf balls as well as new golf clubs. Come check them out. You're sure to find something you'll like! And if you don't see something you've been looking for, let us know and we'll do what we can to make it available.
Mark your calendars! Rancho Sierra's 8th Annual Glowball Tournament will be Sat, Aug 27th. The cost is $45, which covers 18 holes of golf, cart rental for the front 9, dinner, and all glowball items. Our tournament and raffle is legendary in the AV, so don't miss out! Register online or in the clubhouse as the number of available spots are limited!
Great people make great employees. If you or someone you know would enjoy working at a great golf course, please come in and fill out an application. We are always looking for people who love the game of golf, have a great work ethic, and enjoy people and the outdoors.
Lastly, if you are thinking about holding a tournament at Rancho Sierra, don't procrastinate! Shirley has been busy booking tournaments for this year, and prime dates are almost all taken!

July is here and for those who were wanting summer you got it. Its already up in the 100's so drink plenty of fluids and golf early to stay out of the heat. A lot of golfers are making early tee times so if you plan on an early outing please call for a tee time to make sure you reserve a spot.
We have an abundance of new balls in the pro shop and hopefully all our hats, visors and straw hats will arrive soon. These items will help with keeping you cool and the sun out of your face. Our 8th annual Glow ball tournament is set up for Aug 27th 2011. Fliers and sign -up sheets are in the club house with all the information you will need for the tournament. If you sign up by July 20th and pay you will receive a free sleeve of balls. Don't wait, it fills up fast!
It is snake season out here in the desert and at the course so please be careful and don't walk out of bounds with out watching where you are going. So far there have been more gophers then the other kind. Pedro and Rick are once again working on getting rid of the squirrels and gophers I certainly don't know where they come from but they are sneaky little pest and they seem to multiply over night. Our Cleveland shirts are on sale for $24.95 they are very cool for the summer and wash well. If you can think of an item we don't carry and would like us too please let one of the starters know and we will try and get it in here.
Tournaments days are booking fast so if you would like to hold a tournament 12 to 50 people maybe to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, sporting outing or just friends getting together please let one of the starters know and I will contact you personally, just leave your information and a number for me to reach you by.

President's Cup
The President’s Cup started on July 10. 16 golfers registered for this single-elimination match play format and were divided into a Low Bracket and a High Bracket. The winner of each bracket will play the final match to determine the President’s Cup Champion.
Summer Classic to be held on August 14
The Summer Classic will be held on Sunday, August 14. Entry fee is $50 and must be turned in by 5 pm on Friday, August 12. This is our quarterly High-Low, Draw-for- Partners, Best Ball Tournament.
Lunch is included and there are plenty of side pots and pari-mutuals to increase your chances of walking away a winner.

Quick Tip from the Pro
Did you know that approximately 70% of shots played are from 30 yards to the hole. Making your practice proportionate to your round of of golf is important. Spend less time on the practice range hitting drivers and more time hitting pitch shots and putts.
